The #YouToo? trauma workshop is hosted by trauma therapists Sarah Hammill, LCSW and Amanda Gibson, LCSW. We have a combined 18 years of experience working with and treating survivors of sexual trauma. We're also both trauma survivors ourselves and understand the process of healing from the inside out.
We believe that it's time to end the silence around sexual trauma, and connect with others in the service of healing ourselves and our communities. We invite any person who has has felt traumatized by an experience that involved gender, sexual orientation or sexuality. This can look like many things: sexual harassment, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, gender/sexuality-based emotional or psychological abuse, etc.
The goal of the #Youtoo? workshop is to help you recognize and respond to traumatic memories and emotions that are getting in the way of living your best life. Sometimes these kinds of hurdles show up immediately after a traumatic event. Sometimes they surface many years later. No matter how they show up, we know from experience that they are not a life sentence. Healing is possible.
In the three hours we will spend together, we will cover:
